Founding Membership

Ten spots. One thing done properly. A circle built to compound, not just to fill rooms.

A friend asked me this week what a founding membership at Maison Esmeralda would actually consist of. Fair question. There’s nothing to compare it to yet, no category it slots into. When something doesn’t exist, even the people closest to it struggle to describe it until it’s sitting right in front of them.

So here’s what it is, plainly.

Maison Esmeralda is a three room villa with a private pool on the Petite Côte, near Dakar. One thing done properly rather than five things done okay: a morning routine of yoga and calisthenics to wake up the body and the brain before the day gets its hands on you. It opens Q4 2026, and I’m building a small founding circle around it first, ten people, who don’t just stay there but add something to it, an introduction, a skill, a project worth building on.

300 EUR / USD, one time, locks in a permanent 30 percent off the standard rate, whatever that rate ends up being down the line, not a fixed number that ages badly. It comes with priority booking in high season, an open invite to the morning sessions whenever you’re on site, an invite to private events at the house, and first look at whatever grows out of the community around it. You can pass your spot on once, to whoever you choose. After that, it’s yours for as long as Maison Esmeralda exists.

Not everyone who likes the sound of Saly is right for this, and I’d rather say that upfront than let ten spots go to the wrong ten people. A founding member is someone who’d come back more than once anyway, not because of the discount, someone who already keeps some kind of morning practice and misses it when they travel, instead of hoping a session by the pool will start one for them. Someone whose own circles, wellness, alternative finance, start-ups and ventures, people quietly building things, already overlap with the ones forming here.

Here’s the honest test. Would you visit Saly anyway, even without this, just less often. If yes, this is pure upside for someone who was always going to be part of it. If the offer is the only reason you’d come, this probably isn’t for you, and that’s fine too.

I’m not filling this round for volume. I’m filling it with the ten people who’ll define, just by living it, what a morning here feels like, before we have reviews or a reputation to explain it any other way.

If that sounds like you, you know how to reach me.
